It actually does look pretty good in 800x600.... Curious if you planned on skining the Apps sections? No big deal... Also I did somewhat notice that, although I think your skins are the BEST, they sometimes are hard to see during the day... The one you have posted right now actually is a bad *** night skin... Not sure what you had planned to change for the night one, but this one loooks AWESOME at night... Just wondering if you had any ideas for color changes maybe to a lighter/brighter color for daytime viewing.. I always noticed this when I used it in MediaCar... During bright days I would put MediaCar back to the default skin, because that sucker was bright and could easily be seen in any condition, but would always go back to yours when I could see it good... Just a suggestion..

Febs is the MAN!!!

Is this skin going to work for the Destinator add-in that Confused made for frodoplayer?

no... A skin would have to be made for the destinator plugin that matches Febs Brushed Metal... They are seperate programs...

I would actually love to see a Brushed Metal Skin to replace the Radar skin in the VOICES Navigation Module...

Yeah I will. But right now I think I am not too sure what to do with the apps section. I mean, there are all those buttons in it. What is Frodo going to do with them? Is the program going to put icons on those buttons (automatically with the chosen apps)? I'm not going to skin what I don't understand.

As you might have known from my website, I haven't finished my install. So I have only rough idea of how it's going to look. Do you think a Brushed Aluminium would look good in daytime? See below for sample:

I love that new brushed aluminum skin! Would be awesome to use it for daytime and the other brushed metal one for night. Great job!

Those buttons are for users to put their own pictures on. They are just transparent gifs so anyone can make them. Maybe we can find someone
to make some common ones ?

But anyway if you are going to skin the apps. Just make some cool buttons
so people can overlay their stuff on.

Frodo

Nice ******* skins BTW.

Oh, so it has to be manually done. Not automatically imposing the icons of the chosen program? Change the gifs in Apps[resolutions] folder and edit the apps.ini by hand? OK, Gotcha. But then... that would mean millions of icons!! HTF am I going to do?

Anyway, can someone kindly test and confirm whether the Brushed Aluminum skin is really better during daytime so that I can decide if I should stop doing the night skin and do this as the day skin instead. Here is the link to the zip file http://www.my105e.com/febsperanza/fr.../FrodoAlum.zip Note that it only consists of the background.jpgs

Instructions:
1. Download the Brushed metal skin first
2. Put skin.ini in C:\Program Files\FrodoPlayer\Skins\brushed_metal\
3. Put *.jpgs in C:\Program Files\FrodoPlayer\Skins\brushed_metal\PICS\Backgro und\

Comments and critics are needed! (Especially critics)

Yes I know that it is a separate program. That wasn't the question. Some of the other skins have been made to go with the detonator plug-in. I was asking if feb planned on making a skin to go with the plug-in seeing how he is best at making the brushed metal skin.

brady... mis-understood your question, sorry....

Febs... OH MY GOD... That is exactly what I had in mind when I posted about a daytime skin.... I will test in my car when I get off work, but I am almost certain that it will make a huge difference...

I just tested this in my car... Looks pretty good... I suggest maybe making it a little darker than it is and make all the text and black button images a little darker.. Mainly the word "Menu" was kinda hard to read... All and all it looks good though..

rodiewp: Go ahead and load the 800x480 in your 800x600 resolution... It looks fine, thats how I am running it... I can't tell a difference at all... I thought it was going to look bad, but it looks good...

febs... One of the main things I noticed with the daytime skin is the contrast on the buttons isn't as good... With the original the black button with white text/icons gives good contrast... With this one the contrast isn't as good... Maybe just making the grey text/icons a little darker... And on the skin the aluminium needs to just be a little darker across the board.. Looks fine on my computer, but on my lilliput it was a lot lighter..

I personally have always LOVED the brushed metal skin in MediaCar... but when I played with MC, I had some problems... I'm sure it was all user inflicted... but anyway, now that Frodo has the brushed metal skin... AWSOME! I can't wait to see where it goes from here... have you started those MILLIONS of apps buttons?! lol Keep up the good... nay... GREAT work!

TTYL!

OK, let's try another one. Just a little adjustment so it would be easier to read. Here's the zip file: http://www.my105e.com/febsperanza/fr...doDarkAlum.zip

Please let me know which is better in daytime. Thanks!
