Feature: Kill
Is there a way, either skinning or addition to next release that there can be a Kill button (A bit like "ShowDesktop") that will fill screen with a user configurable screen - ie GPS / Screen Saver / Screen off???
So if the cops pulled you, just flick it over to what ever is legal or off??
Nick

yes, that would be handy. I had a cop pull me over once and i had the menu screen of MediaCar on, and the DVD button (with logo) was visable, and she was trying to be a ***** about it. But nothing happened, because she couldnt prove i was watching anything.

I did turn my PC off, but the cop made me turn it on to check, and the menu screen was the first screen to come up. She also checked my cd drive, luckily there wasnt any movie dvds in there.

You should have said that the DVD screen was enabled when you stopped and put on the handbrake. That should have confused her

Check out wizmo, from grc.com.
I have this configured as an application, and selecting that application turns the monitor off. A mouse click brings it back to life.

Almost sounds like an unreasonable search/4th amendment violation.

Yes, it does. Having a dvd in your drive or having "DVD" displayed on the screen doesn't mean you couldn't have been watching it while parked. It woudl never hold up in court...

Heh... I didn't realize police were now required to be IT experts.
I doubt they're qualified to make those judgements:
Police reject candidate for being too intelligent
"The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average."
