FrodoPlayer 109t3 issue with Flash.ocx

Hi Frodo and all...

Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned, I searched and found no mention.

During install of Frodo 109t3 on WinXP SP2 fresh install, I have hit an error twice now regarding not being able to overwrite existing Flash.ocx located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash.

Choosing Retry fails, so I choose Ignore. Frodo works fine in this situation. Specifically, one can enter into Settings 1 from the menu.

If however one tries to resolve the installer error by drilling down to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash and seeing that file Flash.ocx exists and then renames it to something like flash.ocx.BACK, hit retry in the installer, the error is resolved. Had I stopped investigation after resolving the installer error, Frodo 109t3 would likely have worked....(meaning, be able to access Settings 1 from Menu).

Looking at the time stamps of the supplied flash.ocx and the existing one I had, I decided I would be all smart like and use my own. I renamed the newly created Flash.ocx folder (which I think should be renamed) and removed the .BACK extension from my original Flash.ocx file.

HERE is where I created my own problems.

Repeated attepts to view the Settings 1 page from within Frodo generated no "visiable" errors, but simplely returned me to the main page.

After looking at the frodolog, I discovered several errors saying Flash.ocx was an unregistered component!

Moving the Flash.ocx directory back to it's original name and renaming my XP provided Flash.ocx file to some other name, restarting Frodo found Settings 1 available under Menu.

Sorry for the log story about a silly problem. Thought it might be worth mentioning if no one else had.

Summary:

frodo installer tries to create directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx

An existing file of the same name as to be created directory exists, generating error.

Fix (outside of frodo):

rename existing Flash.ocx FILE in dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash.

Hit retry in installer or simply re-run it.

Don't go getting all smart like me

I think the problem is that the installer doesn't register it if it fails to copy it. So the file copy fails because it already exists, but it's not registered, so the error in Frodoplayer occurs.
This makes sense to me, but i'm no expert on registering DLLs. I'm a C#, Java, keep all your files in your own application folder kind of developer(except the VM of course).
