Chewiees Kenwood Inspired Skin Idea

Hi guys/gals

Been working on a skin over the weekend for Frodo, but didn't know how many icons were embedded into Frodo itself.

I want the folder list to appear in the top left

The vis/file info to appear in the top right

The folder list in the bottom window

SRC button (middle left) to swap to the menu section

dunno what to do with the stereo buttons surrounded in the blue yet. Was considering just a mute button on the left as I personally control volume from my HU

Everything else is straight forward, except for the fonts used I guess... any thoughts?

It looks really good, but it may be hard to use with a touchscreen (7") if all the button are so small. But it really is pretty, I would have it for the show factor in my car
good job skinning...I am guessing you didnt start from scratch? and font could be Ariel...like you have to the right of the volume knob(by the way, how does that work?)

Cool, I did think that about the buttons

Its my first skin, but I did use my current head unit as an example, pulled a couple of bits out it to make the top section.

I've had to put a few bits in there myself, but it doesn't look too out of place...

I'll post what I've got as I go along... I may need some help configuring the skin once I have the layout sorted.

I take it there is no Frodo Skin Making tool yet?

Like yunusyu said, your buttons are to small.. use at least 10% width for your buttons.. Make sure your favorite button(s) is/are on a corner or something. Like the next button on the right and so on..
Another thing... Try to make the .psd file as big as you can (1600*1200) and resize it when your ready. Also make sure you use 300 DPI. Save the images in the best format (no compression).
First. find a nice car radio (front panel).
Second. Open Photoshop and make your own..

Nice skinning.. Looking forward testing it.

teeny tiny buttons and 7" of pleasure

I know... especially seeing as I have fingers like shrek's toes

I was going to set the areas a lot bigger than the actual button anyhow. They're spaced out because of this.

This skinning is a little troublesome to get into but I'll persevere!

I still have to create the other screens, but I want this one right first as it's the primary screen.

I'll have to consider the button size seeing as there needs to be a typable alphabet there somewhere, along with other things :s
