help, can't play m4a music files!

i took alot of songs off my ipod, which came in the format of m4a.

In frodoplayer, i can get FP to recognize the m4a as playable files by adding the extension in settings1, but when i actually try to play the files it doesnt work.

Is there a plugin or something that i need? I can't convert all these files to mp3 extension so i must find a way to have FP play them. Searching has proved useless too btw.

Yes you can. Download and run Tunebite. It will convert them to mp3.

Yikes! Do you mean you have 600 files you've purchased from the iTunes music store that have the fair play DRM built in to them? Or do you mean you've ripped 600 files in that format?

If the latter, you can convert these files using iTunes. Just select mp3 as the option for importing files. Select the 600 files and hit convert. It will take awhile, of course.

If the former...wow. You're a real iTunes store junkie!

If these are m4a and not m4p, then just install quicktime alternative.
It's available on my site.
