Finally figured out what I was doing wrong with the EQ this morning.

But like strohj, I'm also experiencing a lot of distortion, even with the sensitivity at the minimum level, reverb off, chorus off, and flanger off. It's almost like the input from the XMPCR (connected to line-in) is too loud..?

I should note that I am experiencing the distortion problem (of course) in the car. When I tested it on my desktop PC it sounded fine, except when I was performing CPU/memory intensive tasks..

Decided I'd check out this new EQ thing but when I go into recording properties, I don't see the SPDIF-In source listed there which is where the XM Toslink is. All that I see are: What-U-Hear, Wave/MIDI/CD, Microphone, Line-In. I don't know what "what-u-hear" is or where it came from but I don't think it's what I want. I'm running an Extigy, has anyone with a spdif input gotten this EQ thing to work yet?

Have you tried to select the line inside the app ?
You can do it there too.

So where/how would I do this? I don't see SPDIF as one of the choices in the ini files or any other reference to eq other than enable/disable.

It's not in there. You need to open the EQ and select "I" to change it
inside the app.

If it's not there, then you can't record from it.

I'm having a strange problem, that would be a great feature if I could figure out what I did

I was running Frodo XM and everything was working great, and then I ran SpyBot (I was amazed at how much crap was on my machine from just a couple of internet connections). When I restarted my machine, XM started playing even before the computer fully booted (started part way thru the Windows wait bar). However, when I try to load Frodo XM it acts like there is no connection to the XMPCR unit - but music keeps playing. I then tried loading the default XMRadio software and it says the port was in use.

I checked and re-checked all the settings and com port 6 was assigned to the XMPCR and this matched my config settings. I rebooted (both restart and full cold boot) and the music keeps playing - which is great except I can't change any channel or see what's playing.

So, I unplugged the USB cable, and the music stopped - but both Frodo and XM software think the port is still in use - so now I can't the program to work and I have no music

Any thoughts of where to look next?

did you check device manager to see if the port number for the PCR changed?

Hey frodo, i'm having a problem with Alpha 3, if I enter and exit the program 3 times, on the 4th start it will come up in the task manager but it will never load on the screen. Then when I reboot it works fine for another 3 times then does the same thing again.

edit: I just tried it on my work computer and it does the same thing, just sits in the task manager using 50% cpu, if I kill the process it will let me start it one more time then just do it again

jcdillin - yes I checked device manager and it says com 6 (same as before and same as in my Frodo Satellite config).

Help??

Try deleting the device in Device Manager, let Windows re-detect it, and then try running the software again.

It happens to me occasionally that if I restart, or the computer crashes, XM keeps playing throughout the reboot process.

It appears that if you exit A3 too soon (about the time it takes to display channel number and logo) it leaves a process running. Subsequent starts don't do anything. Watch the task manager as you start/stop the app and you can see this. Exiting A3 too soon apparently doesn't close everything.

that is interesting, but for me it doesnt matter how long I leave it open, it's still hangs on the 4th restart.

Seems strange to be quoting myself, but this problem exists even with the stock skin. I deleted the fp folder and reinstalled with the same problem (is there a more complete way to deinstall?). Also the EQ screen doesn't show ANY input sources when I hit the "I" button. Has to be something going on with my computer but what???
