I had a weird problem with FSR Alpha3.
I installed it and the sound quality was really bad. Sounded like my speakers were blown.
When I uninstalled and went back to alpha2, sound quality was back to normal.
is alpha3 designed only for people with EQ?
My carpc is a Compaq 700us laptop with onboard sound.
edit: come to think of it...it must be something in the ini. i guess EQ is enabled by default

Frodo - is there a way to disable the column headings in the preview table, or to change column heading font size/type? Thanks..
And while I'm posting, might I make a feature suggestion?
Scan-mode for presets/favorites where it'll play each station for 5 or so seconds and skip to the next until you find something you're in the mood for, and hit the button again..

Well, the guys at Creative say that it's "normal" for the Extigy to NOT allow the SPDIF to be "recorded" (they say to use the "What U Hear" input which is the sum of ALL inputs). So I guess I may not be able to use the EQ feature unless that input works, but I still don't see any inputs on the EQ screen.
I've been busy working on my new skin for night time. I found that plain old black backgrounds provide a stark contrasting display on my panel whereas lighter and metallic skins look faded and glared. My car has orange lighting and I went primarily for simplicity and readability (my eyesight isn't the best). Here's my initial shot at it:

I'm still looking for a way to get the current song title/artist from FrodoSat into my own VB app to put it on the 16-char LCD.. any thoughts, let me know.

I am having a problem getting the program to mute and unmute my line in.
The XM Direct is comming in to the Line in, and i have the INI configured to control the software on mute. I have selected "line" for the mute, mute on exit, and unmute on start options. When i press the mute button in the program, nothing happens. The line in is never muted.
What am i doing wrong?

Those using Audigy 2 NX or Live USB cards...
To those using creative soundblaster live or audigy 2 nx cards. When using the EQ feature, with either the spdif or line in, are you able to output the stereo XM source into 5.1 channels?
Hopefully you understand what I mean. I have been trying to come up with a way to get 5.1 output from the stereo XM source. The EQ feature looks promising, as it allows the source to become digital, which can then be upmixxed by the USB soundcard.
Any clue?

thats the point of the Equalizer being added to it... it basically records the line-in runs it through the equalizer.. and then outputs it as a Wave stream... so it gets upmixxed by the soundcard to all the appropriate speakers...
5.1 in your case..
However.. a couple of us have reported sound quality issues when using the equalizer...

great, that is what I wanted to hear.
What sort of sound quality issues are there? I have read through the posts, and the only thing I see is people misconfiguring the app. Is there something I am missing?

If the sound quality is bad, it's because you misconfigured the reverb, flanger, or chorus.
Turn the reverb down to the bottom, and the chorus and flanger off.

As far as my attempts are concerned - I tried that all in teh car but it did not help.
On my desktop it works rather well, except when another app starts hogging the cpu, then i start getting crackling.
