Can't get SAT RADIO to load

I keep getting the following error message 'Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

I've downloaded the Alpha 3 version and reloaded it onto my PC a number of times, but still get the same message. I can get XMPCR to work no problem, but not the Frodo XM Sat Radio application - any ideas where to look?

Thanks,

GRod

Reinstall the VB runtimes.

I reinstalled VB runtimes and got the same error message - is there a debug script that I can run that would tell me what is missing?

Thanks, MajorGeeks described exactly the problem I was having. The link is as follows: http://www.majorgeeks.com/faqshow.php?id=8

Component MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies not currently registered ...

Here's what I got from MajorGeeks - and it worked perfectly!

GRod

Sometime certain Microsoft Libraries can become unregistered when installing and uninstalling a lot of software. One very common problem is the MSCOMCTL.OCX.

To correct the error, first search your drive for MSCOMCTL.OCX to see if you have it. If not you can download it from HERE

The file should be placed in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

Once it is there click START--> RUN and type "REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX" (No quotes) in the box.

That should fix the problem.

That fixed it! Thanx! But what's going on here? Although my player is in c:\program files\frodosatradiox, it installed a folder c:\program files\frodosuite\patch that contains just two files: unins000.dat and unins000.exe. Do I just leave these there or what?

I just bought the XMD100 and all the setups from someoen on the forums. I have the antennae, and a serial connector to my computer. I also have two rca outputs running to the Line IN of my computer. So, I have everything connected, and I have the XMD getting power, I think (there are no LED lights to show power, but I haver it connected right), and everything is connected perfectly. I go to the Sound settings in my lower right corner, and here are the options:

Volume Control
Wave
SW Synth
SPDIF
Aux
CD Player
Line In - MUTE
Microphone

All are set to around 50% except the Line in has the Mute checked. I tried disabling the EQ in the ini file, but still no luck. At first, I was getting static, but I messed around a little and am getting no sound whatsoever from the software. It won't receive any channels. Any ideas?

If the EQ is disabled, unmute the line in.
For the no channels, did you set the comport ?
And when you activate, you must have the software running
and let it run untill all channels come in.

Frodo - the patch works great! It fixed the scrunched lines and makes it much more readable.

Thanks,

GRod
