Well there is a huge list of channels in the box, but when I try to open one, it doesn't let me, and on the boxes below it, they say "UPDATING"... hmmmm

try booting your pc with the cable unplugged, then plug in the serial cable after you have finished booting and open the xm program.

I was having some weird problems with the serial connection as well.
I can use the XMD on my laptop like its nothing, it will plug in and unplug all day long and work without restarting. My desktop however, is very picky. Sometimes it will work, other times it won't.
Is there a program to refresh the serial connections/com port?
Restarting the computer and then plugging in the serial cable sounds like the next step for you. That had worked for me once or twice.

Hahah i know!! BUT WOW.. This is sooo awsome. Just keep that in mind next time someone is having a problem w/ all the settings right. I think you should put the com port in the FAQs and if everything is set up right, make sure you restart, without the serial plugged in, and then plug the serial in, and then start the program!! AWSOMEE!!!
