Music folders

This has been asked Im sure but couldnt find out anythign clear cut about it.

I have all of my music organized like

Weezer-Albums (eg, Blue album seperate folder, pinkerton seperate folder) etc - actual mp3s.

Where I navigate to the artist, then to the album of choice and all the albums mp3's are there.

Can this be done in Frodo? I had done this a long time ago for use with Myhtpc/meedio.

It would be easier to navigate than having to scroll through 6,000 mp3's with a remote.

I have my music organized the same way. I've been messing with FP today to see if I want to switch from MediaCar

The 'Directory' and 'Directory2' modes seem to be what you're looking for. I agree broswing through a properly organized file structure ist he way to go ... I don't trust the tags.

I'm still trying to figure a few things out with these modes though ... like when I use the 'Directory2' mode to drill down and select an album, the next and prev buttons don't work.

I am trying to use the directory 2 function to drill down as well. It seems to work well with my music files, but it does not seem to pick up any video files. How do I enable viewing certain filetypes in the directory 1 and Directory 2 windows?

Add them to the db extensions and rebuild.

Ok so after playing with it for a while the next and prev buttons work as long as repeat isn't turned on

But if i use Directory or Directory2 to play all files in a dir, and turn on 'repeat' ... the prev and next buttons just restart the current song.

Frodo, thanks. I did add them to the file types but it was not working. I did not try to rebuild though. My mistake. anyway, here is how I ad to set it up to work. Works REAL well.

My VIDEO tab only has Music Videos in it (YIppie!) Also, when I search in the DIRECTORY 1 and 2 tabs....I can drill down to sub folders with music AND videos in it now. I have seen some please trying to figure this out. Here is how I have it set....

VIDEO tab
only music videos

Directory tabs

Music Video folder
MP3 albums
Comedy Videos
Divx movies
TV Episodes
Audio Books
