Destinator woes or: How to find an SDK.
Ok, I just tried posting this once and it didn't appear so I'll try it again appologies if this is a double post.
I have destinator 2 and its SDK. I used to use them in combination with a small application that allowed me to semi embed destinator into frodo player. I recently reformatted and did a bunch of upgrades on my system and I can no longer find the application I used to get this done. I don't even remember the name of it. ;_;
Idealy I would love to use Destinator 3, but I'm an unemployed bum, and cannot afford the $50 they want to charge me for the SDK. (I could, but I would be living off rice and water for a month if I did. Not worth it.)
So I ask you people out there. Can any of you help me? I'm stuck using copilot live right now and I hate it. It's buggy, it crashes, and every time i reinstall the thing I have to call up ALK and get them to release the licence by hand because their DRM is broken.
Help me mp3car.com, you're my only hope!

Ah yes. Thats what I used, but your link appears to be dead right now; and crap, reading that thread, I realise I had a chance to have the Destinator 3 SDK but the beta stunk and I forgot about it.

Ok, one last question then I swear I'm done (for today). Turns out I do have a copy of the destinator 3 SDK, I just found it while looking for some other stuff. It's the first alpha release that I recall sucked. Can I use it to embed destinator 3 into frodoplayer, or do I need the newer, paid for version?

You always need the paid version to use it. It's not a free product. Stupid thing is even if you buy the $50 SDK you need to spend £70 on the D3 licence, as the $50 SDK does not license you to do anything. You also need to jump through many hoops to get them to send you the correct DLL.
The only other way was using a 'cracked' version of the DestDLL.DLL that came with older versions of MapMonkey (1.2betas and below) however if you manage to find a copy of this, it is illegal to use and I would only do so at yoiur own risk if you can even find it.

You could also look in this thread for confused's MediaCar version of the D2 SDK based app.

All I want to know is if I can use the destinator 3 alpha SDK for embedding destinator 3 into frodoplayer. That's my only question.

NO
Original answer implied that but was giving hints on where to look for a SDK D3 DLL that did, you obviously missed the point.

Look for things? I'm way to lazy to do that. I got confused's external launcher for dest 2 working now so I'll deal with not having the latest and greatest. Now if only I could figure out how to get destinator to allow you to route to an address in a different map then the one currently loaded. They don't seem to think someone might make a cross country trip with it. (or I haven't looked hard enough for the option.)

In D2 I used to er...
1) Open map I want to go into
2) find address and save as favourite
3) switch to local map
4) route to favoroute
5) change half way

SO if someone happened to have an old version of mapmonkey on their system they could jsut swipe the .dll file from it as it is the same as the one nedded for the later version? Theoretically speaking of course.
