Two Instances of FP and two sound cards

Ok I'm running dual monitors here and will soon have dual sound cards too... i have one instance of fp on one screen and a second on another screen... i need one of the fp instances to be output through my onboard sound liek it is currently, and the other to output through an addon soundcards ill be adding soon...

is this possible?

I don't know of this being possible at the moment with FP. I believe that FP uses the default wave device for outputting sound. So it would seem to me that both instances would select the main sound device for playback.

Just out of curiousity, are you trying to have seperate sound outputs so that passengers in the back can listen to something different than people in the front?

maybe you could just use a diffrent player based on winamp, I think I saw a plugin for winamp that allowed you to select the sound device. So then on the first monitor you could run frodo, then on the 2nd monitor you could run the other frontend. That way the would not interfere with each other.

yea i am having one output to the main speakers and one output to a pair of headphones for the passenger

and yea i kno winamp could do this, but id like to keep frodoplayer, because i can run the same skins on both and it makes setup and upkepp of the pc much easier

Try Road Runner...it makes use of winamp to play the files so it's possible to use winamp plugins

ive tried rr before and didnt like it, but maybe ill mess around with it now that it has more development behind it

I've always used frodoplayer but I think that RR is the way to go...It's in constant development and it just keeps getting better 'n better

i just tried rr a littler bit, and just dont like the limited option in choosing music, i like how frodo allows you to shoose by artist or album, or w/e u want...

so if anyone can figure out how to do this with frodo, please let me kno
