Fusion Brain hardware versions?

It seems like the current ver is v3 and the 'reloaded' is v4 -- what is v1 and v2 and what have the differences been? Also if I just bought one last friday what will I be getting? v3?

Thanks

You'll get V3, which is what almost everyone has.

V1 never made it out of China, it had a fatal flaw
V2 was the 6 beta testing boards that got sent out
V3 is in production now
V4 is in development

Cool, so this is the one with the incorrectly setup out LED's then? Did you guys ever make the little board to put in the output driver socket to fix that?

... um sort of.

We asked it to be made, and since it was such a simple little board, we told our factory to just lay it out and be done with it. Well apparently their english<-->chinese translation was not correct because they screwed up and they did nothing but move the socket over.

But the LEDs to output ports arent really important and you only ever see the leds when you are testing anyways.

Any firmware changes since the first V3 boards were sent out? I ordered mine as soon as they became available (pre-ordered actually) and would like to update the PIC if an update exists. I've got a programmer, I'd just need the latest hex file.

yeah, there are some, improving the analog inputs. I can talk to nick about posting a hex file, but I'm not sure we want to. Perhaps we can work something out privately.

Yeah -- that's cool I dont mind the LED's not lining up with the outputs -- I monstly got it for inputs anyways -- and trust me I understand the language barrier issue -- I have manned APAC support roles and dealt with that crap on first hand for years! (Hey I even got a free trip 4 me to japan tho so that was cool!)

Is the V4 out yet?
I've been itching to get one of these for a while now, but if there is a new version coming out soon I will wait.

A new version will always be coming out later. Even after v4 is released, we will begin working on v5 with even more improvements or such.

v4 is not out yet, but we have finalized the design, layout, and components. We still need to write and test new firmware, as well as test a prototype of the hardware before we sell.

You can follow v4's progress in this thread: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fusi...-reloaded.html

Look near the end of the thread for the most recent design (1st post is outdated)

I really like the layout of the new board!
Is there an ETA for production? And is it possible to pre-order?

We are aiming for a late 2008 release, nothing solid. And pre-orders will be available, but are not now. Probably ~1 month before sale we will start preorders.
