Fusion Brain and its uses!
I just had a few questions.... not sure if i would need the Fusion Brain, or if it will work. So I have a few questions.....
1. Does FB work with out a PC? Reason I ask is because i want to use it to switch a digital quad processor into a diffrent mode, but it has to do it before the car pc turns on. Basically I have a 3 camera set up. Once i turn off the car then turn back on, the QP automatically defaults to 4 screen mode.... I want it to default to 3 screen mode instead. So as of now I have to take the remote and push a button to get it to that screen.
2. Can I use this to make a reverse mod type thing to switch my middle screen to A/V 2? i tried making my own relay type device, but my car is awkward after reverse it still sends a light electrical current through the line so the relay will not switch it back to PC when coming out of reverse.... only way to do it is to go into park, but once i go into drive and have to pass reverse, the switch gets stuck in reverse.... maybe the fusion brain can do something?
Any help would be appreciated.....

1. No, it requires a pc to actively control the brain at all times.
2. yes you can do this

For #1, why does it need to be done before the PC starts? When the PC boots, have the FCC software start on windows start. And set the default to change it to input 3 when first started. That will work fine.
And for #2, yes it will work fine as said above.

Basically this to see all around the car.... all mirrors will be removed (I dont care if im breaking laws, I want my car to look the way I want it to.) So basically there will be a wide angel camera on the right, left and rear. I will basically rid the car of any and all blind spots. When I start the car, I dont want to wait 15 to 18 seconds before the FB will switch the QP into its correct mode. I want to be able to start the car and see right away.

Then why not power the video thing with a constant source. No remote needed then.
Or just get a remote start and when you are ready to go, start the car. By the time you walk to it, everything will be setup already.

I could power the QP constant, but wont that kill my battery?

A remote you say...interesting!
1) I would simply wire the button to a relay that sends a pulse once you start the car, no need for complicated electronics here...
If you don't want to hack up the remote, get a cheap learning remote and do it with that one.
2) Put some resistor in the cirquit; if the lights only work while reversing, there's got to be a way to make a relay work. Another alternative: put the relay in series with the bulbs.
Maybe it's a switched ground cirquit?
Just some ideas, good luck!
