steering wheels control for chrysler

Hey guys, I just sold my 03 accord coupe last friday and bought a 300c. I would like to use the fusion brain in this car also. Does anyone know if the steering wheels control is a one wire or two?

I found the installation instructions for a PAC-SWI for your car. This should highlight which wire to use from the factory harness.

here's what i found, note that steering wheel buttons are on a LIN bus to the steering control module. what do you intend to do using these buttons?

which wire color is it on the back of the oem radio that the steering wheel uses to controls the radio?

I want to use the buttons just like I did in my honda accord for my carputer software streetdeck. So I can control the volume up and down, and next song and voice control. Thats why I need the wire color of which wire it is. On my accord it was one wire resistive. The wire was under 5volts which was easy to program with the fusion brain. Just need to know if the chrysler is one or two wires, and if the wire is already under the 5volts to work with the fusion brain.

The pinout I gave you is for one of the radio plugs. Find the plug that looks like that. Those two wires are needed, so that probably means that it's a two wire setup. You'll have to correspond those two pins to whatever color the wire may be. You'll also have to use your multimeter and go through the same steps (in the FB tutorial) you did with the Honda.

so none of the chrysler car you can use the FB becuase it uses can-bus? Most all car use some kind of system like that. gmc, MBenz,bmw ect..

Correct, if you tap into the CAN-Bus, you may cause unwanted results with the many onboard computers in your car.
It can potentially cause a no start condition.

You may be able to get to the actual circuit behind the buttons and disable the CAN part altogether. Chop the circuit and wire the buttons straight to the output via the same resistor pattern in the honda.

But just like reromero said, tinkering with the CAN system at all can immobilize the entire car and/or cause permanent damage.

Should have just not given up the honda

Okay guys thanks for all your help. I guess I wont be using the fusion brain for this car. The honda I had cant compare to the car I have now. I never thought I would buy american and be happy with it. thanks for all your help.

I have yet to test this, but I have a theory.

If you get the SWI-CAN adapter from PAC, you should be able to tap into your can-bus +/- wires and run those to the SWI-CAN. Then the SWI-CAN should output a usable signal that you can interface with the Fusion Brain. If you already have the FB then the PAC adapter is the only other thing you need to purchase. I haven't tried it yet because I don't want to fork over the dough for the FB and the PAC adapter just for steering wheel controls on my VW.

Any thoughts?
