I've had my Fusion Brain for probably 2 years. I originally bought it for my steering wheel controls which I attempted last summer and ended up giving up on it.
Well this year I decided I needed my steering wheel controls. MDX is more mature so I figured why not.
The MDX configurator has made things ALOT easier. There use to be alot of functions that just didn't work correctly. Most of that seems to have been cleared up. I found a great skin on the boards by greenman100 to monitor/log my inputs to get my voltages and also test my outputs.
I've now got my steering wheel controls working. I got such a feeling of achievment from it I keep looking for other things to use it for too. I'm also using it as an output to trip a relay for my remote wires to avoid the turn on thump..
Long story short I hated the bloody thing a year or so ago. But with some patience and the software maturing I'm seeing some of the cool stuff you can do with this little bugger.
No real point to this post other than my experience. There are still a few notceable issues but MDX has come along way. Far enough that even I finally got it working.
I should also note how helpfull 2k1Toaster has been. I get frustrated and impatient very quick (probably why it took me 2 years to get it working) but he/she has been great in answering my questions.
Right now my only issues.
1. Cannot for the life of me get MDX to startup in the system tray. I'm using a workaround just changing the startup shortcut to run minimzed but it's not ideal as it doesn't sit in the system tray.
2. Debug options crashes my MDX as i mentioned.
3. Not really a problem but some of the Actions in the Logic section (eg Play a sound) still aren't implemented. Not really a biggie though
2k1Toaster.. I got the RunInSystemTray to work.. Turns out I had to have the menubar set to "Fixed". Using sizeable or hidden would result in MDX starting and not minimizing. Soon as i changed that to fixed all of a sudden it starts up in the sys tray.
Easy enough work around. Thought you might like to know.
