I think I found the problem here. I'm letting it run for a while to check.
also her ei sa picture of the PIC capturing the top half of a sine wave.

The idea I had was when there is no connection the the computer but there was power that the DO's would be in there default state.
This will happen for now. If you shutdown the computer normally, the fusion software will shut down, and on its way out, will set all the outputs to zero. try it.
Eventually, the PIC will sense USB, too.... but there was less than a week for me to write the firmware

Vista could be a problem, I remember reading somewhere on the microchip forums that Vista and the CNC firmware didn't like eachother. Unfortunately microchip.com is down for maintenance at the moment, so I can't confirm what I heard..

Is there a 220nF cap on pin 18 (vUSB)? This is required for stability of the internal 3.3vUSB regulator, and could be the possible reason for the random restarts if missing? Other than that, do you have the WDT enabled? If so, try calling CLRWDT moreoften, see if that helps?

OK, to test this Ill use another computer running windows XP.

There's a 470nF cap.
I'll look into WDT.

Xp/Vista should be fine right now because the same problem has popped on on both OS's. So you could try, but I dont think that alone will make a difference.

Looks like a fix is pretty much being tested now, so fret no longer.

WDT is disabled on the firmware I have now. I have no idea what went out on the beta boards - I didn't save the configuration because I barely made it to the post office.

Unresolved Bugs
Fixed Bugs
Odd habit of connecting/disconnecting
Other Improvements
I have the timed turnoff working independently for each channel... in other words, you set each channel to turn off after x number of seconds.
If you have not paid for your relay and temp sensor, you need to.
Once everyone reports in with a day or two of experience, I will send out new firmware PICs. We will provide an envelope with postage.

Ok, new update to the program: http://www.fusioncontrolcentre.com/S...2024-04-07.zip
Just replace the current *.exe with this one.
Changes for 24-04-07:
* Graphs now work again
* Took off protection timer for analogue timers. Now you can update at a theoretical 1mS interval. This is getting us around 17 kilobytes a second in data transfer. Which is more than enough resolution.
* Added some program protection.
More updates will come soon.
