It's doable, but I haven't done it myself. Nick would be better able to answer your question, he is on vacation but checks the boards at night.

Woohoo! I think you are #1 internation right now. All packages according to my tracking numbers were at customs. They took a long time to clear. I bet they opened thinking "wtf... a box in a box in a box with electronics!"

Glad it got there!

That is because the CELCIUS and FAHRENHEIT are no more. All of them are based off of functions now. And that was the major change in the new version. (1.5.1 as opposed to 1.5). So the settings that used to be, are gone. I will of course document this, but probably after I get back!

Yes that was the only thing I saw missing as well. And that would effect it. But since it didnt chnage anything it is assumable that there is an error before it parses that.

That's not good... Well it is good that it works for you, but bad that the new version does not. Could you please email me your skin file so I can look at it. FusionControlCentre@gmail.com.

From what you posted it works on my end... Strange. What version of Windows are you running? I noticed in your screenshot that the "." was a "," as done mostly in Europe, and you are in Norway so is this XP with the Norwegian language pack? I wonder if there is something there... The function parser relies heavily on commas and decimals being what they are. If the program is automatically spitting out a comma even though I programmed in a decimal for non-integer values, that could be screwing up the function parser. Because that is really strange.

Yup you can do that. The page buttons's settings tell them what page to go to. 0-based of course. So page #1 is 0 and page #2 is 1 and so on. To changes pages in the skin editor it is in the main menu somewhere and when you click it a box pops up. Enter an integer number of a page, and it will create that page for you.

Yup. Just got back from 7 hours on the sandy crystal clear beach. Now I am going to go have dinner and if there are some more responses in here afterwards then I will try my best.

This Unit is great, its really amazing what you guys put together. im really torn between this and the MFC from connect2car. i know its a **** load more money, but i really like the feature of being able to control and get confirmation that the car started, or windows are actually up and things of that nature, as well as to be able to control it from any web browser. if im at work i can to the website and hit start.

The Fusion Brain allows me to do everything i want in the car when its running. I found a separate unit on the web thats a bluetooth transceiver device with 5 built in relays to control electronic devices. i can tap it into the carputer power supply so it will always be active unless the car battery voltage goes to low. i could then use that to lock/unlock and lower/raise the doors and windows. But I don't know of any way to hook up one of those relays to get the car to start. Can anyone help me out with this? is there a good way or method to hookup the starter of the car to a relay that will activate it?

usually the best way to go about remote starting is by using a remote starter type alarm. the fusion brain can then start the car by sending a signal to the module to start it, this is how I'm doing my setup,

if you don't have a remote start already & don't want to add one, it probably is possible to have the pc do everything threw the fusion brain, you will need a few outputs to kick relays to turn on the ign feeds, then you would need an output to kick the starter, one of the inputs would have to be wired to your tach to monitor engine speed. the skin would have to be coded for run times & stuff, but also to monitor rpm's & brake pedal at least, preferably also the hood & an alarm output for safety shutdown, just like a real remote start system would. isn't something like this possible with the software now nick?

as far as connecting to your car from the net, I'm planning the same thing. I plan on installing a pager (yes they still exist) that will start my pc. that's simple, receive a page & trigger pc startup sequence.

once the pc starts, it will automatically establish a connection & then connect to a server like go2mypc or something. at this point I can log onto the vehicle thru the net, as a remote desktop. I can then choose to add runtime to the pc, remote start the car, & even do useless things remotely like open & closing windows & doors, monitor functions & temperatures etc... I can also do anything else on the pc threw this connection like monitor a camera(s) threw remote desktop connection too

if the beeper happens to receive a wrong # the worse thing that will happen is my pc will startup for 15 min, then go back off if no connection is established. I will have it so the screen doesn't light up in the car throughout the remote access session too, just not to draw more attention to the vehicle.

a beeper is like $15 a year or something, & will allow me to intiate a remote session from anywhere just by dialing the #. go2mypc is a bit pricier but I'm looking for alternatives... a static ip would be nice too

I'm using Z2 Remote2PC with my NO-IP account, but VNC will also work. If you have NO-IP run at startup, you don't need a static IP. And any remote desktop will work. I can't wait to get mine so I can setup same processes as you and use my PocketPC as the remote from anywhere in the world.

Hello,

First off, let me say that I'm really impressed with this product and it seems to be a really cool tool for people to use on their CarPCs.

I have a general question or two about it before diving in to purchasing it.

My car, a Mazda 3, does not have digital air conditioning controllers. I have the standard dials that increase the flow of air and change the temperature of the air coming out. With this Fusion Brain, will I be able to control the air conditioning even though my Mazda does not have digital air controllers?

Another thing: Can this be used in place of purchasing a Car2PC controller to allow for the integration of steering wheel controls to the PC? I know it won't be able to control the headunit, but even controlling the PC would be nice.

Also, I believe I've read this, but I wanted to clear it up, it can monitor RPMs, speed, and other engine diagnostics along with opening and closing windows/sunroofs?

Could I use this to pop my trunk and turn on lights in the car?

Thanks for the help!

Even though your unit is not digital, it is most likely at least partly electrical. If you can, take a picture of what connects to the knobs.

Yes, it can interface your steering wheel controls.

It cannot monitor RPMs without you building a frequency to voltage cconverter. It can monitor temperature though, with our temperature probes.

Yes, popping your trunk and turning on lights is very simple, you just need a relay for each device, and for each direction on your windows.

Has anyone created a 2nd page in their skin and got it to switch between the two? I can get it to create a second page, but i cant get a button to make a link to switch from the first page to the second and back again. In the other buttons menu there is a "page" tab but it doesn't have anything under it, is that what i need?

Yes that is the correct area. I am not sure why I didnt put anything under it. At the time it seemed right. Actually I just forgot.

Manually it will still work. Put "#PAGE#xx" where "xx" is the number you want your button on. Then in other buttons set the settings to "#SETTINGS#xx" where "xx" is the page to switch to and the "#PAGE#" field of the other button is the page that button is to be displayed on. Set the function to "PAGE"

I will code it into the designer, but for now you need to do it manually.
