Yeah, I like the word "Doom". It adds an ominous sort of power-control feeling to me.

Ok, new Beta software release. This has the new drivers, and please read the ReadMe file for installation instructions.

There is a new version of the software available along with drivers and skin designer. More details here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fusi...le-faster.html

Well, I just finally got caught back up, and I have one more box to open (wtf?) to get to the prize, can you clarify some things for me, my eyes have blurred a bit since reading everything from my last post - on.
Do I need a new chip or something on my board (being that it's one of the early ones)?
The lights dont work right (though they are all one color), but the outputs work properly?
Only 4 brains per computer?
Any other big issues I would need to know, getting started back up with the board?
Sorry for the throwback, but I was out out paddling a canoe around the world or something for the past few months.
Nice to see you finally did get your own sub-forum.

I packed it well.

No you shouldnt. The only thing that changed is that we fixed the analogue port switchups.

The LED lights light up the correct output, but the pins for the outputs (the actual connector) are just mixed aroung a little bit. But they all work and they work perfectly.

Before the version 2.0 of the software, yes only 4 brains per computer, and you need 1 firmware version each. But now with program version 2.0, you can have 127 of them hooked up of any firmware version with no problem.

Nope no issues. The accelerometers had a problem, and we are still waiting on our replacements to make their way over the Pacific... But other than that, nothing much.
Hope your canoe trip was good.

Ok another release of the software! This fixes a few issues that popped up in the last release. It is much more stable, and faster even. The CPU usage has even been reduced.
There is a new skin designer as well. This fixes the issue with the blinking brains button.
I urge you to download the newest versions and try them out. Again this requires the 2.0 versions of the drivers. I will post this in the software thread as well.

I don't remember if it was covered in the beginning, it's been a while. After a quicky thread search I found nada, so here goes: It seems that, unless you're working with an old car, OBD is such a powerful springboard to start from, but if obd was the key to all of the information we wanted, we probably wouldn't be here. It, however, would be nice to have that data available in the same skin, so that we could use the inputs available for additional information, while having all of the information available on the same program. There's a sense of unecessary redundancy when wiring into a sensor I already have data for on obd. Can it be possible to merge the two seamlessly?

Honestly, I know nothing about OBD. I think it is serial though... The brain cannot read fast digital signals like that. So you would need an OBD reader and then it would have to merge in software, and I have no idea how that would work...
Sorry, but not in the foreseeable future.

well, maybe someday someone will be writing programs for making obd data avail for your program, just as was discussed for your sending software's data into RR.

How about a software simulator for the brain, so we can fool the software into letting us work on things without the hardware present? I'd really be able to use that here at work. And maybe it would be good for trying out new hrdware ideas, and troubleshooting. The program needs the drivers installed right. Because I haven't actually hooked my brain up yet, I don't have the driver installed yet. I don't know when I'll be able to actually do that, but I would like to start messing around with your skin editor.

You can use the main program with the debug console and simulate voltages on each input. Also the skin will still work with the buttons even though the brain isnt there. It may complain at first saying nothing connected (although I think the version that does that is not yet released.)

How do I get the skin designer to let me do anything without a fusion brain and/or driver installed?
Edit: And I'm not sure how to access the debug console in FCC. Open something in VS?
