don't know if this should be here or in the road runner section, but in RR you can set a button for lighting ie- adjust the gamma as probably you can in other front ends but as i don't use them i wouldn't know. Is it possible to make this button switch gamma control as sometimes its nice to darken the screen in the day when it's dull and raining?

What does RR send when you press that button? Run Gammacontrol with the "/?" param and you will get to see all the options. Have that button run gammacontrol with params like /switch /autooff or something to that nature.

If you use Interanal Gamma in the latest version of RR, then you can use the 3 State Gamma button. This will automatically adjust your Gamma based on your GPS position. However, if you need change between night / day you can press the night day button where it will sequence between:

Auto -> night -> day -> Auto.

To configure this with the latest version of RR, I suggest you download the RRConfig posted by Chuck. Guino did not know that I had updated the RRConfig code, as such he did not include the new version with the latest release.

I don't use RR

I'll have to contact chris about sourcing some delphi code that reads NMEA and extracts your position from there.

I guess it would be useful to have an onscreen overlay saying that gamma has been changed (also i should add auto mode).

You could also have the automatic mode adjust by one step every x minutes starting at sunset.

Any chance you'll be adding something like this soon?
