Help with Audigy 2 NX optical in --> optical out
...all I want to do is be able to use the "optical in" port on my Audigy 2 NX to carry in 44.1 khz stereo spdif via toslink from my Sirius reciever (mitchjs Alp1), and output the very same signal over 44.1 khz stereo spdif out via toslink on the "optical out" of the same card.
Is this possible? If so, what settings do i need to have active in road runner and the audigy control panels? I've been wrestling with this for two weeks, and I think I've ready every thread, tech manual, and article on the subject on this forum and anywhere else. This should be the simplest thing in the world: I can listen to Sirius via analog line in on the card, but I want the optical transport to work. I know the optical cable is carrying active signal, the red light comes on. I've tried using "digital output only" (which is my preferred mode of operation) along with setting it up as if it had speakers to output to (which it doesn't). I've tried muting/unmuting spdif in. I've tried the older drivers that came with the card, along with the newer USB 2.0 drivers. I've tried selecting "spdif in" in Road Runner config. If I can't get this sorted on the Audigy, does anyone have a similar setup on the TB Roadie or any other card up and running? And no, I'm not asking about decoding anything, my Alpine processor handles that.
