rxh81 is an unknown quantity at this point
My experience with USB sound is just terrible !

Everywhere in the forum is mentioned: "If you want good sound and don't have a PCI slot you have to go with USB sound..." Is this really an option??

In my case I bought a Soundblaster Live 5.1 USB card, sound is maybe a bit better, but because of all the computer noises and the thumb, when windows starts and shuts down, it wasn't even useable for me...

I heard all the USB activities form every device.
If I copied some things from WLAN... dock..dock..dock, also when it searched automatically for new networks in reach every few seconds.. dock, dock, dock.. same with GPS...
Also all changes from picture on the TFT was documented with strange but low noise...

I know, it's a digital transmission, and so there shouldn't be any other things to hear... I don't know why they appear...

I just wanted to mention / discuss this to prevent sb of running into the same problem...

I already go by toslink to an external D/A spdif converter, and it's absolutely perfect!

One thing I can think of: was the card powered over usb? It could be that the power supplied by the mainboard was just a little too weak or some devices induced noise into the power making it dirty...

The most important is that your install is ok now!
