9 pin mouse to ps2 socket

Ok, old problem this, 9 pin mouse, and only a ps2 socket.........

It used to have a converter, but that got lost, now it was only wire in plastic etc no electronics, but search as I have I cant find how it was wired to build a new one, or to just cut the plug off and fit a ps2 plug to it.

Anyone know how they were wired, or I'l have to spend a tenner on a usb/232 dongle, and take up a usb port for no good reason.......
