Ah, but its missing the one critical component if you want to use a composite lcd. There are a lot of similar boards out there, all having the same "flaw."

What do you mean by source?
MP3DUB
Can you kindly show me the links to a lot of other simular "boards" not barebones besides the shuttle ones?
The shuttle FV50 has only PCI slots and no USB2.0 but it does have S-Video out and 6ch audio out. I still havent seen a small LCD with S-Video in. I've heard a lot of people have problems with S-Video to composit video adaptor like it only show black and white or the color doesnt look right. Also doesnt the 845G have better 3d graphics than the SIS 650 and 651 video chips?
This board came out before the SS51 barebone was available.
The only other board that has all the features is the SS51, but its only available as barebone.
believe me, I would rather have the motherboard in the SS51 but its not available only as the motherboard
As for video out, you can buy a small scan converter for less than $50 that lets you adjust the size and position of the screen, unlike the built in video outs on the FV24, FV25, FV50 and the SS51. I know for a fact that people complaint about the black borders around the edge of the TV screen cuz I have the FV24 and no matter what I do, I cant get rid of the thick black border on the edge of the TV.

Off hand, I can't give any examples, but when I was searching for a new matx socket a board the other month, I kept coming up with all sorts of p4 boards that fit my requirements, but had a hard time finding a socket a board with everything that I needed. But if you search around, you're bound to run into them.

Sapphire just released newer versions on the ATi IGP with ATi's south bridge. USB 2.0, 6 channel audio, blah, blah, blah...
http://www.sapphiretech.com/PRODUCT/PRODUCT-board.HTM
A3-M293 AMD
A4-M280 Intel
Search newegg.com for "sapphire a3" for the older version with USB v1, AC97 audio and vga/composite out for $72.
I'm going to see if the new distributor can get those to my old boss.

i dont know about you guys, but i will probably wait for the EPIA-M from VIA. here's the spec sheet. I know its a 933 and not a P4, but hey its smaller and i will bet it takes a LOT less power. P4's are power hungry.

I wonder how long it will take Shuttle to utilize the new mini-itx platform with the Appolo CLE266 with a ziff socket so I can stick my PIII Tulatin 1.26GHz 512K Cache CPU in...

P-III 933Mhz too slow?
I dont know about you guys, but to me, my P3 933Mhz on the FV24 seems really slow compare to my P3 1Ghz home computer that I used to have. I think it's a chipset problem. The 1Ghz was a 440BX chipset. It's almost as fast as my P4 2Ghz running app. There is always hourglass when I switch apps like from Winamp to GPS or from GPS to OBD-II info on my car PC.

The C3 is slower than a Celeron3 of similar speeds, which is inturn slower than a Pentium3 (which is inturn, as fast as a duron, which is inturn slower than an athlon ). And the 440BX was the most versatile (best) chipset EVAR (the i810,i815, and i820 were all abominations).

The 440BX had the best memory speed, except for new DDR, and RDRAM.
When the chipsets came out after it, the KT133, and the i810/i820, they couldnt compete with the 440bx for memory bandwidth. With DDR though modern memory speeds have passed it.

You have to look at the whole PIII architecture.
It was once said that the PIII couldn't really take advantage of RDRAM or DDR...

The board im referring to is a mini Flex-ATX. It's smaller than the Flex-ATX that Asus offers. The Sapphiretech mobo are MicroATX which is larger than the standard FleX-ATX. There are tons of MicroATX that has verything built in. I am referring to mini Flex ATX boards. Thats why I was comparing the shuttle boards.
