MSI Industrial GM965 Core 2 Duo Mobile Mini-ITX Mainboard

This should interest quite a few people!

In the past few weeks, a new mini-ITX Socket P motherboard was introduced, which will make it much easier for upgrading with Intel's future processors (and it's cheaper for a socket P processor). I just purchased the Core 2 Duo T7300 from newegg, along with this MB from logicsupply.

Nice looking board, with a good feaure-set. Thanx for the heads-up! My LV-677 could certainly have done with a few more onboard USB ports

No...That's the only drawback I could see. I guess that just keeps from being able to use a PCMCIA slot for extra USB 2.0 ports (but the board supports 8), a PCMCIA broadband modem, or a sound card.

The positives definitely outweighed the negatives for me, especially being a socket P. Also important to note are that the built-in audio and video are excellent, and there is a PCI-E slot built in, so it's not like expandability is impossible.

Interesting. Will mp3.com be selling CarPCs with this mobo installed and if so, ETA?

I wonder if I could get XenarcDirect to put it in my SC-10...

@ RedGTiVR6: You may want to add the new Commell LS-372 to your list, it is a very nice, and compact 3.5" Socket-P board.

It will be available mid-October, according to one industrial supplier in Australia.

I'm going to try and keep this thread for mITX only. We can start another thread for other form factors if we have enough of them.

RedGTiVR6

On page one the Kino 9452 isn't a 755 socket, I'm pretty sure it's an M looking at the photo.

Newbie Question

Fellow Members,
If money is no object, which three mini boards (170mm x 170 mm) listed in this thread are the three best in terms of features offered, processing speed, and quality? I just want to focus looking at the 3 best boards in the list. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

binar - you would be best served to do that research on your own. No one here knows what the best features are for you because they are specific to YOUR needs.

That's no different than asking what the best car is...best car for who and for what? It all depends on how you're going to use it and what you value in features.

Imdbombboarder -

These are small form factor industrial boards. Tooling costs and manufacturing costs are considerably more expensive than full size boards. These boards are also not made in the same quantity as others so these costs aren't as spread out over volumes.

There is the Intel Little Valley board which you can find on the store for right under $70.00: http://store.mp3car.com/Intel_D201GL..._p/mtb-053.htm

Hey, yeah I can appreciate that, usually the smaller things are made the harder they are to make, meaning the more expensive they are. I'm just wanting to put on a dual core that I want to buy at a electronics store the day after thanksgiving(Black Friday Sales) so if I was able to buy a mini-itx that supports dual core and ddr2 that is not too spendy that would be amazing! That motherboard would work but I want to put on my own processor haha!

One thing I dont get, and I posted this before and I dont think they allowed me to post it but, their core 2 duo 1.66 ghz processor is selling on their site for $244.99: http://store.mp3car.com/Intel_Core_2..._p/cpu-007.htm

On sites like Newegg and Tiger Direct, they are selling for $75.00: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=3241565

This a price gouge or am I missing somethin?

They includes me fwiw. I work for this company.

Posts made in the store forum are moderated. No one was preventing you from posting anything, it's a feature to cut back on spam.

Also, you really should think about turning on your instant notification of replies as there have been quite a few posts in response to your thread. No point in posting a complaint if you don't follow up on it to see how it turns out. If you don't follow up on it it just seems like you're posting to complain, not to solve anything.
