He may want an FM card for several reasons. When I first got into mobile A/V 8 years ago, SONY was the only company that has all the AV stuff from Japan. I bought a TV tuner for my CDXU8000. When I got it all installed, the video output on the TV tuner also showed FM station channel, name, CD name, track time, CD number, clock. It was really cool because all head unit infos were shown in the video monitor. Since no one can figure out how to import the head unit displays (CD text, radio station) into the computer, a PCI FM tuner card will display all the radio infos in the computer. Or maybe he has a big display that he molded into his dash where his radio used to be. Therefore he has no head unit at all. Which he uses the computer as delicated head unit. Or maybe he wants FM for his computer just for the sake of having it. I have the Clifford AdvanGard 4 alarm with SmartWindows 4 just for the sake of having my computer control, monitor and program my alarm even though I hate Clifford alarms.
