Sirius problem...
I am having problems with my ALP USB adapter Version 1.2. The Sirius station data comes in just fine, I just get no audio from the Sirius unit. I have an analog cable plugged into the left port, and I also can see light coming out of that port as well. I have an EPIA M10000 Mini-ITX board, and am using onboard sound. I have searched, and haven't been able to come up with a viable explaination. Please help!

I have the same setup but I'm using the EPIA M1200. I'm running the output right into my creative card and it works good. I haven't tryied running it into the onboard audio of my motherboard. Let me try it on my board and see if i can get it to work and I'll let you know what i find out.

Well, when I installed my new seats, my old carputer had to come out. I had some cables unaccounted for. Well, when I got around to using my Sirius again, I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting sound. Then I remembered that I didn't have the sirius unit plugged in, so I found a stray cable under my seat, and plugged it into my headphone amp. The only problem with that was that the headphone amp is an output going to my amp from my computer. I finally remembered that my old carputer was under my seat, and that cable went directly into it there. I then realized that I needed to get an extention cable to reach the new carputer in the glove box.

Ok, now I have a new problem. I disabled my onboard sound on my M10000, and installed a Sound Blaster Audigy SE PCI soundcard. I also bought the Digital I/O module to allow SPDIF/TOS in and out. Hooked up the optical out from the ALP USB adapter Version 1.2 to the TOS/SPDIF in on the digital I/O module. I get no sound. I had heard that you have to enable digital output only to get the sound from the module. I tried that, and still no sound from the sirius unit. Just to make sure that my sirius unit is working, I plugged in the analog, and it work just fine (with the noise of course)! Anyone have an thoughts/leads on what could be wrong?

Crap, I just thought about something....
When I checked the box for digital output only, of course I'm not going to hear anything in my speakers, because they are still plugged into the analog out port, and not to the SPDIF out port on the I/O Module. Am I on the right track? Now how do I get digital sound to my Eclipse amp that has no digital inputs? I can do either TOS Link or Coaxial out from the Soundblaster Module.

You will either have to use somethine like the Alpine 701 or some other kind of EQ.
Some cards cannot do digital and analog outputs at the same time, some can. You might check and see if there's a setting to allow both. I know the onboard sound on my mb899 has this setting.

I don't believe the SB Audigy SE will allow this.
So do the sound processors replace the amp I already have, or is this just a supplemental piece of equipment?

They are essentially pre-amps.
There are a few options out there.

Might help you decide.

Yeah, I saw that last night on my search, but as a newb on car audio, didn't fully understand what I was looking at.
Is the the Alpine 701 you are referring to?: Click Me

If you go with the Alpine you will need the RUX and the PXA.
You're also looking at a few hundred bucks ($400+)...so you may or may not be in the right price bracket.

Also, is there a FAQ on which soundcards can do both at the same time?
