Well mate if there was something like that we would be here trying to solve our problems with mp3 boxes and going trough hard times trying to make one. only mp3 player that also comes with cd player is the clarions car computer which is very expensive to buy for the most people here.

So only alternative i can see is to sit down and make that mp3 box and connect it to your CD player in the car.

Yes there is.
This company has launched a home cd-player that can play mp3's from cd, but it can also use a harddisk!

Hellooo

We talking about car mp3 players...
not portable ones not home use ones... just ones that can be used in the car!

The pine cd/mp3 player could be used in the car. I used to use my Discman in the car all the time.

Yeah but its not a designed specialy for the car. you need a power adaptor and stuf like that what im talking about is a mp3/cd player which can be installed in the car and be used as a normal car deck!

The Pine cd player, and it's competition named the Mambox have both seen slipping shipping dates for the commercial product. The Mambox is supposedly shipping mid-december (don't hold your breath) while the pine has slipped to 02/15/2000. These are not options at this time.

The other two choices would be the ENPEG and i believe the Clarion AutoPC for din units, both around the $1400.00 mark if i am not mistaken, and the Clarion doesn't have Mp3 Support yet.

Looks like homebrew is still the answer to versatile and affordable automotive mp3 setups.
