steering wheel control

What is the best hardware I can use to control my carpc with the steering wheel controls? Right now I use a RF air mouse for all pc controls. i USE AN EXTERNAL SOUND card sound audiogy by usb, which has a IR remote. But thats mounted in the trunk area. I have a 2003 honda accord

what does your sound card outout to? (head unit or amplifier?)

it outputs to my amp. I need to know what interface would be better the IR or or something else?

I ordered this a short while ago:

Seems like the easiest solution (but not nessesarily the cheapest) if your buttons are the "resistive" type of controls........

Not a bad solution that or you can solder onto the back of the buttons and run the wires out to the buttons on an old game pad controller. There is free software out there that then lets you take the game pad and convert it to control various apps.

could I just use a old keyboard and use the board. And connect it to the steering wheel controls and then to the carpc? by usb

The same thing can be done with the Fusion Brain for half the price...

how do i know it works with my type of steering control. are the wires at the radio harness or behind the steering wheel? I would need a wire diagram of my car for other outputs
