Once I did just that. Used an old multi I/O board froma a 486 to add 1 parallel port to a new mobo. Using the I/O card to be the LPT2: just put the machine to dream. What I found to be usable, was to use the old card as LPT1: and the mobo port as LPT2: and that did the trick. BTW the second port was used to connect an old laptop via laplink, so EPP should work fine. Hope it helps.
