Question about the Visteon HDZ300Hd

I'm from the Netherlands and I'm thinking to buy the Visteon HDZ300 HD Tuner.
I was wondering if the analog reception is really as good as you guys claimed on this forum, if so, than this would be a serious alternative for the HQCT, that doesn’t quite live up to expectations.

Reaseon for asking is that here in Europe we don't have HD-FM we'll have to do with plain old analog FM, that's why I'm asking.

I hope you can answer this question.
Thanks!

From the tech specs I have read for the Visteon is that it has auto switching. If there is no HD signal, it will automatically switch to analog. I have read alot of reviews and they all say the auto switching works good. From how the technology is designed (for car use, unlike Silabs and HQCT), it is made to stand alone as an add on, where as the other units require the PC to help it with tasks (if im wrong correct me someone). The only thing the PC does with the Visteon is tell it what channel to go to and what not. I am ordering my Visteon later today, I think its finally the best solution to get usable radio into the car with a CarPC.

I just got my radio last week. I haven't yet hooked it up to a pc as I'm just using the wired remote display. I am in the US btw. I don't have it hooked up to an antenna, just the antenna extender. I get almost all the analog stations that I want. The only ones I don't get are stations that are weak to begin with. I suspect that if I were to hook up an antenna properly, I'd get all of those stations too.
It does autoswitch from HD to analog if the signal isn't strong enough. You can tell because the audio gets fainter when switching to analog.

All in all a pretty nice radio. I just need to make or purchase the pc cable...
