Thumbs up

Yeah you could run one of the lan remote plugins for winamp and do a cross-over cable. OR try one of the lp3 parallel port devices.

If you're gonna use it for display, might as well just buy a real LCD.

That thing is has a passive, monochrome LCD. You could buy a 10" one of those for much less than $150.

The link appears to be broken, but by the URL, I think that may be a Fujitsu Stylistic 500?

I just happen to have seen one recently, and I think it could very well be used as a frontend to a car mp3 system. They've only a 50Mhz processor though, so playing directly from them is a sketchy idea.

If others are interested in the product, I know of a source, and I'd be willing to sell a few (provided I can get them). I've got a friend who's planning on making a beowulf cluster of these to put in his trunk.

Found the page.
$169 !?!

sheeeit. I was thinking of a significantly lower price point. depends on what my source wants for them (he's got about 150 he wants to dump). But I think $50 might be a reasonable price to charge.
