Lilliput cig power plug...regulated?

Is my Lilli monitor able to connect directly to the cars power (cig lighter) without power regulation?
It came with a lighter adapter, so I have to think there is built in regulation inside the monitor, so when I go to power it up, I can go directly into the cars harness (thru a relay of course)?

The cig lighter adapter does the regulation.
I believe Lilliputs have an egg-shaped regulator that you would need to include when wiring to car's electrical system.
