It isn't that the G4 is garbage. I've never seen one, so I have no idea. But it is that the Azentek seems to be just so much more. If i was just now starting out, and hadn't spent the money to build 3 different complete systems, I would go with the Azentek in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't consider a G4. I think it is because I have a hard time trusting MP3Car with $50, much less $2000.

The Azentek was not available when I bought the G4. I looked around a lot before I purchased.
It's not total garbage but its CPU is not powerful enough, and its built-in radio only works 1-15 minutes before dying - something I never saw in any review.

UGH..... If only I wasnt a die hard PUMA, sleevless shirt, clothes fitting type of guy, I would like BAPE, lol.... I sure will send him..................
Let me ask........ The CPC-1000, does it have its own built in amps for sound? Maybe sometime in the near future, I may buy this for my other car. My parents mainly drive it, and I think this would be super easy for them to use. Plus I would take up as much space as my PC install in my Durango. Its a 05 Ford Focus, so it has a double din, should fit nicely.

What is this about? Is this where you buy the slingbox for the satalite or cable to be able to watch it anywhere? Because I would SO buy the Azentek for this!

No SlingBox you buy at any major electronic store..... connect the device you want to broadcast to the slingbox, then put the I/R thing in front of the device (sat, cable box) to control it remotely. The car does have to have a broadband connection to view.
I honestly dont know if Azentek created a plugin in for it, if they did, Flux would know about it and would have given it out to us. Has anyone bought the Azentek and tried the plugin? Im willing to bet they simply used the embed feature, which is very unreliable. If they did create a plugin im intrested to see it.
PS: i figured the only way to find out if they simply embeded or have a plugin is to ask them, lets hope they reply.

I was being a bit "overdramatic" as it was the first front end that I had seen with a slingbox plugin even though everyone asks for it. The slingbox standalone program is quite adequate and would in no way warrant buying a $2000 computer with this as a deciding factor.

Of course its not a deciding factor, but us slingplayer users are just curious, if frankly, Azentek is full of ***** when it comes to the screen shots with the Sling Player button there.... or at least Im curious. If by some chance they did come out with a plug-in it can be looked at, maybe recreated and released for non Azentek users.

so the slingbox button is merely "eye candy" for one to salivate? i would be curious to see if the Azentek even has the capabilities of pulling that off.

From all I can tell, the Azentek CPC-1000 is not finished, and they've been saying they're gonna release "real soon" for 2 years now. There are no Infill G4s available (and even if there were, they're broken). Basically, what I'm finding out is that anything I want (working or not!) simply doesn't exist.
I realize that for many, this is a fun hobby, and that's cool.... but I want a system to put in my car that works. The new car should be here this time next week, and I want a tracking number from some retailer, saying when my new radio arrives. Prolly going with Pioneer, or Alpine.
For any manufacturers reading this, here's what one guy wants, in order of import:
1 am/fm radio and CD/MP3 playback
2 BRIGHT screen (for sunroof, convertible top car)
3 navigation
4 MP3, storage
5 voice control / BT for phone
6 ipod control
7 internet connectivity, email, etc. (from here down, do I really need this?)
8 sattelite radio
9 DVD playback
10 back up cam
11 skinnable
If the Azentek CPC-1000, (1200, 11billion) becomes available by the time we get our xB, it'll be bought. If they're still stuck in adding wireless internet SMS control of my refrigerator, Hello Pioneer!
I get the feeling that Azentek is really just going after the OEM market anyway... I think they're dangling the promise of the consumer products out there to entice ford, GM, toyota, etc. to include their technology in their cars. Sure they have beta products to show at consumer electronics shows, but how many of you have seen one in person?
My bet is next year at this time, there still won't be a Azentek CPC that you can actually buy.
