Azentek Atlas CPC-1000 vs. Streetdeck G4
I was checking this out on crutchfield.com and see that everything is already installed in it, no need to buy seperate things like the G4. Has anyone seen this one? Which one is better IYO?

From a performance standpoint, the Azentek wins hands-down.

I like how that front end looks and it's a pretty decent price for an all-in-one solution. Would like to hear from people that use it though. Especially that vista 64 part.
http://www.rvsupplywarehouse.com/pro...l.cfm/pid/3957 (for comparison. I find crutchfield to be a bit high)
Do you have a link on the crutchfield version? I can't seem to find it there.

Dan, the front-end is Centrafuse with an Azentek skin (at least the one that Crutchfield will be selling is). Doth the CF-hater reconsider?
 (messin' with you man).
@Mr. Bape, without having touched either the Azentek or the G4, I can't rightfully tell you one way or the other, but based on the couple of reviews available of the Azentek, as well as the testimonials/woes all over this forum about the G4, it would definitely seem that what DarquePervert says is right. As mentioned above though, we're talking two different front-ends entirely (SD & CF) so I think the true benchmarks would be measured with both pieces of hardware running the same front-end.

lol....Nothing to reconsider....
http://www.azentekonline.com/cms/content/view/41/146/
1) Very prefessional and OEM looking.
2) No third party logos or "button clutter"
3) Not paying $300 so that some company can advertise their logo across the center of my screen.
Remember what my gripes are about "stock" CF. I would purchase that setup.
They don't mention CF, but they really only claim the design "Azentek custom-designed HMI" and the media player does look vaguely familiar.
One other major plus on that system......they have noise cancel AND echo cancel built in.

Worth the price of admission right there! I've been begging anyone and everyone who can code to make one for CF and SD, and still no bites.
Maybe I need to offer the potential coder a brand-new-in-box shiny Slingbox both for their testing purposes and for payment for their services

I just bought the pro (figured they should get some of that prize money back) so I have an extra one I can add to the pot.
Edit: The more I look at that system, the more I have to say that is by far the best looking aftermarket setup I have seen. If it performs anything like it looks, look out Infill.

... you seriously gotta stop spewing CF ignorance. Get your facts straight... it is not difficult to change that logo.
And what, there is no branding in Streetdeck?

Wow, thanks for pointing out the streetdeck logo in THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN.
Geez
I also mentioned button clutter, and I don't think I paid $300 for SD. But thanks for playing along. And should I look up the word "Stock" for you? Might help you play the game at home. The really funny part here.......Azentek "gets it".

Aah, thanks for clearing that up for me... so it's the position of a logo that determines whether something is advertising or not.
Best of luck to you man.

No, it determines if I, the consumer, buy the product or let peer pressure drive me to buy something I don't like. If I don't like it I don't like it. Atacking me and using "flaws" in my arguement isn't going to make me like it more. It's only going to make me like YOU less. Get it?
Is anyone out there messing with one of these? That computer uses it, seems REALLY impressive, and it's a good price. Did a search for hybrid ready drive here in the forum, but nothing popped up. Surely SOMEONE has tried it.

Just bought one......I might as well be the tester on it.

It's using Centrafuse, they just created their own screen. You can easily change the logo in the middle of CF to what ever you wish.
These units must have not be selling for the high as price since now they have dropped their price tremendously. The only issue that I see with these systems is that if new plugins are made and come out, you will have to find someone to made the plugin with the skin you're using. And since the skin is there own, I don't think that they will make it at your request
Again, this is going more towards having them do the job but takes control out of your hands. Having control over your own system is what CarPCs is all about.

They have slingbox plugin. What more do they need?
I really like the 'simple' design they are using. Reminds me of the RR carwings skin. Really well done. I would buy CF in a heartbeat if their "stock" skin looked like that.
edit: Before more people decide to point out my "ignorance", let me give you a clue here.......
The ONLY skin you can ever trust is the one made by the creators. I don't care how much time or dedication is used, add-in skins will almost ALWAYS fail to do something the original creator intented. And THAT is why I don't give a rat's rear end HOW easy anything is to change. I want the STOCK item to be what I want. And SD is the CLOSEST to what I am looking for. Is it perfect? Nope, not at all. But it's a hell of a lot closer than CF.

Sorry I didn't post a link to it, I receive Crutchfield as a monthly mag, they state they it's in stock mid July. I like the clean look of the Azentek. Here's a link from their own website. http://www.azentekonline.com/cms/content/view/41/146/
