No changes to XP at all, just added sevice pack 1 (network install, did not auto update or anything). The only extra drivers I installed were for my USB GPS sensor, and I added a driver to get 800x480 (got it from CarTFT). I am going to have to do some tinkering with the driver as it will not display correctly on my Lilli.... works great on my Samsung 19" though. Still having hibernation in car problems.

What PSU are others using in car with this board?

Hey im also having hibernation problems with my board too. It will boot and come up with the resuming windows loading screen, then it just looses signal. Is this the same problem your having? It seems if I turn the car off and back on it will boot up into my front end (centrafuse).

The issue I am having is that it will not startup at all in the car unless I have just shut it all the way down in the house. I keep having to take it back in to the house to "reset" it.
It did resume perfectly fine last friday night - I shut it down in the house - put it in the car, started it up and I went to get something to eat - came home turned car off and the pc powered down. Came back out to the car about five hours later and it resumed with no problem. So I shut it down and waited about 3min, then I tried it agan and it resumed no problem. I thought all was well. Saturday Morning around 10am I cut the car on to go shopping and it didnt resume. back at square one.

I am thinking that it might be my power supply, but i put my Epia back in on sunday and I havent had any problems.

So then i thought it has to be the BIOS, so I checked that and it is set to S1 - just as my epia is. I tried S3 on the intel just to see - same issue - will not power on.

So the only thing I can think of is that it has to be my car battery.
Maybe I am dropping so low my PS can't handshake. I will get a new battery this weekend. (side note: should have to get a battery as this board takes less power than my epia....but I will)

I am using an opus 120 - same one that has been powering my Epia for almost 3 years.

I have this exact same problem. It has worked on and off. Sometimesd if I take it directly from the house, set the res to 640 x 480, itll boot up and display everything just fine. Other times, itll start to boot up (ill see "resuming from hibernate") and then itll lose the display connection. I never had a problem with any of the other boards ive used in the car. Same PSU, etc.

Is the problem always in the morning?

It might be a long shot, but my commell has a tempeture isue, when its to cold it won't start up, run the car so its a bit warmer and it starts up. Just fine.

So if it happends again in the morning, than don't change anything, just start the car and drive it for a while and than try to start up the cpc

Heard from Opus - they told me to check polarity of the turn on switch.
I have done that several dozen times.

I'll try intel and see what they say.

D201GLY2A - 19-20% CPU usage with Road Runner + MP3 music playing + iGuidance + GatsoHunter + Hand Held Halo datalogging software all running at the same time.

Now running all those programs again on the D945GCLF I was expecting similar CPU usage, but to my surprise it's only 9-12%. Running Road Runner + MP3 music playing alone is just 7% usage. Hyper threading feature on the new Atom processor makes a big difference. Hyper theading is new to me, as I didn't realize it would give the OS a second virtual processor to help speed things up, cool feature.

I've seen CPU temperatures as high as 56C on the D201GLY2A, but with the D945GCLF the highest I've reach is 26C (ambient temperature outside is also 26C). This is really no surprise, and also the biggest reason I switched over, better temperature management.

I've experimented with TinyXP rev09 and it works fine with no additional driver packs, and worked smoothly on my PATA 2.5" hard drive. However when I use my SATA Solid State Harddrive it either crashes with a BSOD near the end of the install, or my hard drive partitions are all wiped out. I gave up on my SSD for the moment, but will try again later as I just upgraded the system BIOS.

I had that very same with my commell and the mobi 3000. With a normal disk it works fine and the ssd of trancend also works fine (but is slow). I never solved it, but could send the ssd back and got a refund including the shipping cost .
Both those ssd are slc, only difference, the mobi did't show all the space of the disk, where the trancend did.

where you using the mobi ?

The pata disk was on the same connector as the ssd when installing ?
Xp wants the os-disk to bee on ide 0

On my board the ide was ide 1 and the sata was ide 0, so xp would only install correctly on the sata port.

The mobi was on the sata and xp installed fine. And even opened windows at the end of the xp install. But after a restart of the system, disk error, and the disk was unreadable with xp running on the other drive. Never figured it out. Hope you get it sorted
