Good call dosquito!
skitlz, what are you using for a frontend? In roadrunner, you can adjust how much one "click" of volume actually adjusts the output. Or there is a link (somewhere in these Bloat group buy threads ???) to a nifty little program that configures your volume in many different ways. for you, since you want to control it from master, you would set up the program to link the wav with the master but only change the wav line a certain percent. Like make wav 50% less sensitive than the master volume. Problem solved!

Thanks mate. I use Centrafuse..
So basically one way or another I can make this beauty work for me? Now i just have to sort out the Line in options. Can't imagine onboard line in being to great a quality.
From what i understand all EQ/bass/treble/level adjustments from within windows will still work also?

You are welcome! Yes all audio processing on the computer is effective and I think there was a post where a couple of us were discussing how the Bloat sounds with using an onboard line in and itself as the output and it seems like it wasn't only me that thought that it was still pretty outstanding! If you are using it for satellite radio or an ipod, etc it sounds absolutely just fine- I think the onboard sound does better at analog -> digital than from digital -> analog. If you have any other questions just ask!

few more days till I can pay (30th I get paid)
quick question though
1) I will be running dual units in my car (and a few for my house pc's), is there any way to put them in a SINGLE chasis with a single USB cable?
im just trying to imagine running dual units, and dealing with the output control ???
please help me out as its not clicking in my brain for some reason
2)is it possible to choose firewire instead of USB2.0 (im running out of ports thats all)
last one kinda curious to me, I have a HD radio unit, and so I need a single 1/8" Input, since the bloat does not have this input, how do I route sound from my hd unit to the car pc using the external dac? do I route through the onboard soundcard and OUT through the usb dac?
thanks for this AWESOME group buy

Group Buy Order Count
It was a good weekend - now there are 22 orders for the Bloat.
We will keep this open until early July though.

Hey, there really is no way to use multiple units off of one USB port mainly because it draws its power only from the USB port so splitting it would be halving its power.. There is an easy way to use multiple Bloats out of separate USB ports, its a program called "asio for all" that will allow you to configure your sound output. It takes a little playing with to get set-up but it is a well documented program and is easy to use. I believe you can use as many Bloats as you want with that. Firewire can't be used tho, its a different animal and the Bloat is for USB only. There is no real advantage to firewire also, but I guess its just because you are running out of ports. (me too!) so heres 2 possible solutions for ya: First, try to see if any of your other USB device can be switched to firewire to free up some ports and second, get a hub (powered or not powered) and take devices that dont need a dedicated port, like lower power devices, and put them on the hub. I have my bluetooth, gps antenna and my griffin powermate on an unpowered hub (recently switched to a powered one). As for your last question, you answered it yourself! You input through your onboard audio and it gets outputted through the Bloat (or Bloats). There was a short discussion on it earlier in the thread about the sound quality in doing that and too me, it sounds great and others seemed to have the same opinion. If you are using it for HD radio it works mint! Hope this helped buddy!
P.S. Your order should put us over the top so hurry up and get paid already!!! lol
