cheap mini pc

Is this the kind of thing that would be worth a look, i'm not hugely computer savy but this seems like the ideal start (presuming it all works).

No.....

Only 2 USB ports. Onboard video with no description as to what it has. No addon slot if it's REALLY low. Cheap enough to try, but I wouldn't do it. Is that a dialup modem on one side????

You can easily get a P4 with the same specs on Craigslist for half that.

Working condition: boot to BIOS, but it always reboot when we tried to install windows, no further test.

Wonder what that's all about? Any ideas?

I thought it looked familiar...http://www.cappuccinopc.com/mochae5042b.asp Definitely not junk, and leaps and bounds better than some of the VIA or EPIA stuff pound for pound.

It's the big brother of the same carPC I was using, which was GREAT BTW. Basically bulletproof. Mine was/is a 1.3 Celeron processor w/256mb RAM. If I had to say anything "bad" about mine, it was the fact the USB was only 1.1. Don't get me wrong, I had a few hubs hooked up to it with GPS, 2 Mice, 2 Keyboards, TS, External CD/DVD drive, Wireless USB adapter and a partridge in a pear tree, and never had a problem. But I felt USB 2.0 would be better.

FYI, I picked up 2 of these at the auction today, my offer was $59.00 ea, and they went for it. So, for about $150.00 shipped, I now have 2 more machines that are a little faster, little more memory, and USB 2.0.

The only thing that conacerns me is why they were having trouble loading Windows on it. Maybe a bad Bios battery or something. Guess I'll just wait and see.

I'll bet I can even swap out the case, since I custom painted mine to match my car. I may even try just dropping in my current HD and booting it up to see what happens.
