Problem With My Xenarc

I got a problem with my Xenarc, here are some things to help you help me:

I've been running my Xenarc for 2 years and on its highest brightness level (99) for half of that time.

2 weeks ago I moved everything around in my trunk including my computer to a new mounting location so all the wires were moved.

When I got into my car today where was a ding-ding sound that a USB device had been plugged in or unplugged but I hadn't even started to move yet, was waiting for RoadRunner to boot so I could use the GPS. But the screen never came on, the music just played like normal. There was no visual, nor touch input on the screen.

I go to the trunk and lightly touch the USB cables, they ding-ding like crazy with the slightest touch with both the plugged-in and un-plugged sounds with every touch.

Eventually I notice the screen is back on so I start to drive home. Halfway there I hear a ding-ding like USB was unplugged and my screen is black but the music is still playing.

So I'm wondering if the visual is in any way linked to the USB port, shouldn't it still display via VGA even if there's an issue with USB? The VGA cable is a screw on cable, there's no way it came loose.

And when the screen came back on, there's a blue tint to everything.

Check the power connection to your Xenarc. The same ding-a-ling stuff happens if the screen power is intermittent. Another possibility is that you may have an intermittent short on the USB power. If the screen won't come up when it has power, you may have to restart the PC so that it detects the VGA signal correctly again.

Good spot, I have the molex connector being used for power pulled tight and there might not be enough slack. I'll check that, thanks!

Yeah, check the screen power. Also, the blue tint is usually a sign that the VGA connector is not on tight. If the connector at the computer end is good, check the connector at the screen end. It's flimsier. Also, if you have an extension cable, check it there.

Okay, here's an update since I got a chance to completely haul it and look at all the wires. I have the two molex connectors coming off the M1-ATX like normal.....one goes to the hard drive, the other to the screen. When I play with these wires, I get a constant dinging from the Found New Hardware Wizard and my screen would turn on/off accordingly. I figured there's a break somewhere so I swapped the molex between the hard drive and screen since the hard drive only has to read intermittently anyway and it was perfect, only had the screen cut out again once since then. What do you think?
