I had a M10k when I first started, that was $150 then.
Then got a Commell LV-670M, that was $200.
Now have a MSI Fuzzy GM1, that was $200.

Liked each of them. My M10k was just fine for what I needed then and slower than what you have, so I dont know what sort of power you need.

Perhaps ebay?

my number one problem is as you might know. compadability. once i start installing perpherals the system destabalized and crashed like crazy!... also from a dead start, HDD formatted and all, wondows bluescreens at setup. the video drivers also go wanky on me and i need to reset the bios thought it was the HDD, so i bought a brand new baracuda 500... then the ram? swapped it with a 1gb from my media center. then i thought it was unstable power. so i ran it on a protected normal ATX power supply.

i tried several differant versions of windows just in case that was it?

the only thing i havnt changed was the motherboard.

Have you tested those components in a different motherboard? Put the RAM in a different mobo, run memtest.

Put the HD on a different computer, run a sector test.

That sort of thing. If the all work independantly, the only thing it could be is the mobo. The RAM doesnt talk to the HD. The RAM talks to the Mobo. The HD talks to the Mobo. If they dont play nicely, it is because the Mobo is playing telephone and somewhere along the line the message is being distorted. Since it is an integrated CPU/Mobo, both could be the problem, or either/or but again since itegrated, replace them both.

I could be completely wrong but that is how my convoluted mind works.

Yeah that was the Commel Lv-670M with a 2.4Ghz P4M

I have moved on, and Tidder actually has my old board.

i have, well sort of. i cant test the ram because nothing else i have takes pc3200... well maybe my PVR server?, but anyway, yes i did a full diag on the ram in the mobo and the HDD aswell. then the SATA wasnt recognized, so i reset it again, and still nothing so i installed windows on a old IDE 30gb. then transfered to the 300 unplugged the IDE and it worked OK... sort of.

the thing is that as a standalone it worked like majic. but once i stared useing it as a carputer it took a ****. im about ready to give up.i bought my 13000 for 100 a few years abo and now looks like the price hasnt changed, nither has the technology, much.

the thing is that 200 plus a processor is out of range, is there another option , i really dont need hdmi gigabit lan or anything like that

My first carpc was the SP13000, I found it to be sluggish and it would crash sometimes from a cold boot. I got the SP13000 stable after I switched over to hibernate avoiding the problem altogether.

Anyhow I've used the D201GLY2A and D945GCLF and love the bang for the buck performance they offer. They both run faster than my AMD Athlon XP 2200+ notebook carpc and both are capable of monitoring my OBDI and play MP3 music simultaneously without any hesitation (unlike my AMD XP 2200+ carpc). Currently the D945GCLF runs 12% CPU load when I have Road runner + Mp3 music playing + iGuidance + Gatsohunter + OBDI datalogging software running, so it meets my demands with ease. Both boards come with processor for about $75. D945GCLF utilizes the newest intel Atom processor that only produces 4 Watts of heat.

not my # one choice but im gonna try this for now.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...3686&CatId=184

and see how it goes, i can afford 85 bucks to diagnose... unless someone wants to lend me a mobo for a bit then i'll ship it back ;(

seems like a downgrade from the 13000 though. sure its a bit faster, but i lose so amny fetures???? i want a fuzzy, but 300 is a bit too steep.

not all the time but i will be running the video revording software, gps, mp3's and obdII software. thats why i need someything faster then the 1.3

danielkh is an unknown quantity at this point
kino9452...everything built in, minimal periferals needed.

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/work...-part-3-a.html

And everything listed is running off one M2-ATX

And the T7600 is WAY overkill. But I like it.
