USB length

I read somewhere that a usb cable cannot exceed 6'. Is this true?

I want to move my pc to my trunk. I would need longer then 6' usb to do this. My thought was to use a 6' usb cable from my pc to my usb hub. Then another 6' usb cable from my hub to my LCD and other devices. Will this work?

I think it's 15 meters.

The hub should work, too.
You may want to get a powered USB hub, though.

15 meters sound a lot easier. Thanks.

it's 5 meters max. (that's the standard anyway) you may get away with a longer cable, but I doubt it. If you need longer, use a hub as a link between 2 5 meter cables.

5 meters. My bad.
I've never had a USB run longer than 6 feet, so I don't know.

5 meters = 15 feet (roughly). That's what I was thinking.
