Hello all,
Well, I finally decieded to put what I have of my flash web page up! I would appreciate it if you could check it out and let me know what you think. I have worked dang hard on it so far. The only links that work right now are under the news and info buttons. But, make sure to put your cursor over all the buttons! Read the story under Info>The Story. The web page is one flash file that is 282k. On my 28.8 it takes less than 2 minutes to load. I have a lot more content to add so please let me know what you think or if there is something else I should add. I also made a flash intro movie which is 711k. If you want to check it out go ahead, its kinda cool =)

What did you use to do your "flashing"?

I used Macromedia Flash 4 (Have flash 5 but I dont like it as much) and Photoshop. Flash is a lot of fun. Did it take awhile to laod for you? ANd do you think I should make a regular html site?

load time was not too bad, but, i did miss being able to cycle thru the pages myself. Maybe u should do a combination (yeah i know i have to fix and update my web page and really should not make suggestions on others till i correct my own but, a question was asked so an answer was given

)

well I have a 31.2k connection (permenant) and it loaded quite fast indeed. I think you should just wack together a html so people without fast machines can view your pages easier. It struggles on my P133 to run flash smoothly. But my Celeron 733 handles it quite well

Just incase people have slower machines/connections, I'd have to versions, and let them select which one is best for what they have.

Just a thought. But personally I say "bring on the flash!"

Well, for the time being I will be working on the flash one because it is my final for a college class =) I do plan on making an html version of it later though. I am really trying to cut down the size of the flash movie. If all goes as plans, it should be around 2-2.5 times larger than it is now. Thats the plan. Anyone want to co-author the html side of the page with me? Maybe someone who wants to mod an I-Op?

Iv'e got a decent machine perfectly capable of running flash and a cable connection so load time was near non existent, But I agree with crazyshaxs for his reasons and another one...sometimes I just like to cut through it and take a quick clean look at something with html....I love flash it just makes things so much well flashier...but there are those times....I liked your flash it was clean and easy to navigate to.

Hey Thanks for the kind words Catlas! This is my first time ever using flash. Its also going to count for a grade for my final in my begining animation class. So maybe I will do alright on it =) I hope to get done with it soon. I got all the software info done and some hardware info. When I get done Ill start on the html page. Net Objects fusion baby. Hah, I am lazy... what can I say. Any changes need to be made?

Very nice, clean site. The graphics are well done and the content flows smoothly and logically. Load time was not a problem, but then again, I'm on Starband so bandwidth isn't a problem. I was just wondering why you used mouseovers on the menu instead of clicks. It's kind of easy to accidentally move to another page without meaning too. I can appreciate that you are saving the user some extra clicks, but I think it might be more usable that way. Then again, maybe I'm a bad critic. Are you gonna post any pics of your modded I-Op? I would be interested in seeing some. I modded one with the audo out hack, internal usb ethernet hooked to the second usb port, serial port mod, and a 4.3 gig drive. Ended up being a pretty nice little machine.

Thanks for the feedback on the mouseovers. That was something I was trying to deciede what to do with. I can easily change it to a on release of mouse action instead of a mouse over. I think I will. I hope to be posting pics of my progress very very soon. I would be very intereasted in seeing your mod too! let me know =)
