Fairly new around here, but not really to vehicle electronics. I'm looking for an in car DVR to record off a dashcam; will be mostly for insurance liability purposes, but also just for the fun of it.
I'm looking to put a police dashcam style camera in the windshield and need something to record the video. Been looking at the standalone (both hard disk and solid state) options on ebay, but I'm not really sure how trustworthy they are.
Anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with a standalone DVR product for this kind of thing? Preferably would have good to very good resolution, built in 12v power supply, vibration/shock resistant, a "loop" feature, and optimally some sort of "automatic" on so it starts recording as soon as the key's turned.
Has anyone ever used one of these?
