Mazda 6 Lilly

I'm talking about the screen that goes in the map compartment, and has a motor that flips it up. The moving parts on this make me nervous. How do you guys feel about it? Wouldn't it be better to just get a screen w/o motor, and mount some kind of spring loaded hinge on the back, and mount that in the factory map compartment? With this, I would have to open it manually, but I don't think thats a big deal. Also, this method should open faster and way quieter than the model with the motor (cheaper too!).
