Do you have a contact over at anandtech? I have talked with Anand in the past, but he probably isn't working on this. They could test voltage levels with a p2140 and the PSUMONI software. http://carnetix.com/P2140/CNXP2140.htm . I can probably get approval to lend a tester a 2140. We haven't been able to get the boards yet.

Anand was the author of the article and stated in the comments that he was the one who physically had the board (as he was going to try some things for others who left comments). You could try shooting him an e-mail and see if he is willing to test the power consumption as well, anand.shimpi@anandtech.com

i see a mention of using the P1900 with this board. I got my mac mini stolen out of truck recently and am looking for a replacement setup. It seems the Acer Revo or maybe this Zotac board would be a good fit. I'm also considering the Intel chipset after reading this http://forums.fluxmedia.net/off-topi...mainboard.html . What would you guys recommend? Will this Zotac work with my P1900 somehow? I see the P1900 is dc-dc converter that outputs 19v which seems like the right thing to me. How about performance? Any thoughts on running Centrafuse and IGuidance on these different low power options?
Thanks in advance.

I am using CF with my LF2 dual-core Atom board, and I have both iGuidance and Destinator installed. It generally runs quite smoothly, the only time I notice lag is when opening XM or HD radio for the first time there is a few second pause (which might be related to initializing the hardware as well). I don't do anything with video, so can't comment on whether that is smooth or not.

Is there a review of the Ion coming?
I was hoping for a full review of the Ion in the Review sub-forum. I'm strongly considering this as my next carPC but would appreciate a full review on the this platform and real world performance. Anyone know if someone is working on one?

Nice board. I think the company i work for is going to be using one of these boards for a project. I should be getting some to play with by the end of july. I think they are going to be the 19v dc models though
I just want to see how well they play back HD Video, grab a slim line blueray player make a HDCP free blue ray player

I know mini-itx.com has a review of the ion but offhand I don't know about any carpc porojects with the ion. I'm using a Zotac board in my build, but not the ion.

@jpinkerton
I believe I've read 3 or 4 reviews about the Zotac Ion board and they all focus on the HTPC potential of the board. I'm hoping an mp3Car forum member does his/her own review so we have that mp3car slant on the review (ie, multitasking with music & GPS, internet, satellite radio, boot times, hibernation, etc).
I'm sure one is coming because this board has received a lot of attention on this forum and tech news. I'm just being impatient because I want to replace my MII10000 fast.

I have the Ion platform and I would be glad to give you guys the rundown on it. I will post some details shortly. I will be comparing it to the Intel D201gly board that was in my last build.

In the Canyon. The Scion is the wife's ride now so I left her PC untouched.

Sounds great. I assume you'll post your review in the "Review" sub-forum? I want to know so I can keep a look out for it.
