Zotac + ION = Nice MB ;)

Check it and discuss:

A little pricey but very nice.

eh, it's still mini-ITX. I'm hoping to see more nano-ITX stuff with Atom. I'd also much rather see better audio than is shown in those pictures.

I have zero need for the GPU side of Ion, so the only benefit to me would be nano-ITX boards like the demonstration system that was shipped to the review sites.

I like my Zotac motherboard, and what's this "Onboard DC-DC Power Supply" for the N330?

What other audio do you want? There's standard stereo jack based 6 chan. it looks like, as well as Coax and Optical.

I'd like to have 2 stereo inputs plus front/rear/sub output. Not all happening with only 3 jacks.

Two reviews on the IONITX-A

http://techreport.com/articles.x/16893
http://hothardware.com/Articles/Zota...n-Motherboard/

This might go well with the carnetix p1900/p2140 leaving plenty of room to spare for other regulated accessories. Can't wait to fool around with a sample.

You can get both the N230 and N330 version with or without Onboard DC/DC Power Supply.

The versions with onboard DC/DC power supply comes with an external 19V, 90W AC/DC adaptor just like the adaptors used for laptops.
For Car-PC use it would be much easier if it required 12V instead of 19V. Instead you need a 12V to 19V external DC/DC adaptor to run this from 12V in a car.

The versions without onboard DC/DC power supply requires an external ATX power supply instead.
You can get an intelligent 12V ATX power supply from the MP3car shop to run this in your car: http://store.mp3car.com/category_s/22.htm
This is probably be the best solution for Car-PC use and the version without onbaord DC/DC converter is also be a bit cheaper although not much.

Thanks for the clarification on those power requirements Blues, I must be blind as a bat 'cause I still cannot find them for the life of me on their website.

I've got a Zotac board right now, a WiFi version that I'm going to be powering with an M4. I was just curious what exactly was behind that DC-DC power supply they were talkin'.

Click "Download full product specifications" at the bottom right corner of the two product links I posted above.

If you still can't find it just click here: http://www.zotac.com/httpdocs/brochu...ION-ITX_v3.pdf

So how does it compare to the Intel D945GCLF2 in non-DXVA/non-gaming usage?
