Voom Case 2nd HDD

Afternoon,

I've read that the Voom PC enclosure (Ampie) will accommodate two HDDs. I'm considering using a 2nd HDD or SSD and wondered whether anyone has any pics of two HDDs fitted?

I received some fitting rails with the Voom PC enclosure but couldn't see the information in the instructions......

Many thanks,
Dave

Also interested to know since I am looking to do this in the future when I add an SSD as a boot drive. It should be similar to my MoCoSo case. I believe there is a simple metal bracket that just puts one hard drive on top of the other, with a bit of spacing in between. Ive seen another user with this setup, but dont see where you buy it.

You might also be able to just fabricate it yourself with two larger rectangular sheets of metal (one for each side). Or just use 4 thinner metal strips, one for each mounting hole in the hdd. Here is a quick mspaint of my idea. The dots in red are where the holes would be to secure the two hdd to the bottom plate of the case.

Cheers nobb,

I've got the fitting rails but didn't know where to use them. I didn't think about on top of the first HDD, although that seems the most obviuos now you mentioned it. I'm surprised it's not in the manual at all.

I'll post the pic if I track it down or when I do mine!

Cheers,
Dave

Awesome, looking forward to the pics, it would be helpful. Unfortunately, my MoCoSo case did not come with any sort of railings, so I am going to have to improvise something for my hdd mount.

Food for thought and possibly the thread you mentioned here.

Question
I would like to know if it is possible to fit two 2.5" laptop hard drives and a VIA EPIA MII-12000 using the M2 DC/DC power converter and the ATX extender board (all of which you sell) entirely inside the enclosure.

Solution
You have a set of brackets for the 2nd laptop HDD, that is mounted on top of the extusion (inside) in between the two ribs.
