Question Video Conversion - HD15 - Composite?

Hi All,

So I've picked up the Zotac mobo running an Athlon 2 X2 cpu and intended on using the onboard GeForce 8200 Graphics thats built in. My screen would be my Kenwood Single-Din DVD Head Unit, having the computer plugged into the video input on the brain unit.

I have just now ran into a brick wall preventing me from getting this project finished..... Video!

Computer outputs only HD15 or DVI..... Kenwood Brain only inputs Composite yellow video input!!!

I don't want to have to have a seperate video conversion box if possible, am I heading down a dark road or is there some light around the corner?? heh (is this possible or not basically....)

Unless you have a composite video out or an S-video out on the back of the mobo, you'll have to use a separate scan converter.

the other problem is that you will not be able to use the touch screen of the kenwood-- which will make everything harder, unless you get a device like a fusion brain, or a powermate to control song selection and other features...

Am I REQUIRED to get a converter box or is there such thing as a cable that converts it?

I've found this:
http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Comp...ref=pd_sim_e_4

but I'd like to be able to use something lower-profile and smaller like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._luc_sbs_02_03

yea..... I plan on getting a powermate for song selection, and mounting it to the dash somewhere. I'll check out what this fusion brain thing is too. IF i were to buy the LCD Screen that is on www.mini-box.com.... I can use the touch screen to click on stuff on the screen as if it was a mouse?!?!!?!?

do I HAVE to buy a seperate converter? Thats totally going to kill the "lowish budget" aspect of this project. I DID, however, find this. although it looks like I need to ensure if my mobo has TV out capability....

Or I could pick this up:

http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Comp...ref=pd_sim_e_4

secondly.... IF I were to buy this, would the touchscreen be able to connect into the motherboard somehow and touch stuff as if it was a mouse?

I don't have any experience with that low budget converter, but my guess is that it functions like...well, like a low budget converter. It may work or you may waste $17.99. Tossup.

The cable you linked to only works if your video card has TV out capability via VGA. You'll have to check on that yourself.

The monitor should work but understand that it is a PAL/NTSC which means you will get a blurry picture from the PC. VGA will be much, much sharper and higher resolution.
