How to simulate "Reverse" on workbench

I've got my carputer powered up on my work bench, but I need to figure out how to simulate the car being put in reverse (to activate the hardware controlled rearview camera). Sounds like I need 12V to that wire, but I wanted some expert recomendations before I connect any hot wires.

(Before posting I searched the forums and this was the closest I found, but still not discussing how to do it out of the car)

Indeed

In the same situation with Eonon screen. With nothing in the manual I first connected the ground with no response, then bit the bullet and connected the +12 to the trigger wire.

Happy to say the effect was switching to AV2 instead of a fried unit!

I don't advise trying unless you can accept the risk..

Don't want to fry anything. I've got one wire labeled "reverse" and no seperate ground wire (assume it just grounds from the main ground?) Here's the wiring harness breakdown from the manual: from that I assume I can connect it to a 12v coming off of the desktop power supply just as I did to ower up the carputer on the work bench. If i connect/disconnect (manually or with a switch) it should activate and deactivate the rearview camera.

Light Green - Reverse Gear
Detection lead. This lead must be
connected for the G4 to switch
automatically to view the rear view
camera. This lead needs to see
+12v.

Orange/White - Illumination lead.
Wire this lead up to the illumination
wire on the car. This wire needs to
see +12 volts when the parking
lights of the car are activated.
Pink – Attenuator. This will cause
the radio to mute when the cell
phone rings when used in
conjunction with a cell phone kit.
Currently this feature is nonfunctional.
Brown - Remocom - This is for
steering wheel control. An adapter
for the particular vehicle might be
needed. Currently this feature is
non-functional.
Blue - Antenna Turn On. If the
vehicle has a powered antenna (an
antenna that is motorized), this lead
will need to be hooked up. It will
cause the antenna in the car to
extend and retract when the radio is
accessed.
Light Blue - Hand Brake. This lead
needs to be wired up as a safety
feature. It will sense when the hand
brake is applied and will cause
certain features of the software to be
enabled when engaged.
Blue/White - Amplifier Turn On. This
lead is used to sent the remote turn
on signal to your amplifiers if you are
running any.
Red – Accessory. This wire must be
connected to an accessory wire
within the vehicle. This wire senses
when the ignition is turned on and
will cause a turn on and turn off
signal to be sent to the G4.
Yellow – Power. This wire must be
connected to the battery in the car.
Do NOT splice this wire into a wire of
a smaller gauge. Doing so will risk
the unit not operating properly and
could cause an electrical fire. If the
wire in the factory harness is the
EXACT same gauge as the wire on
the G4 harness, splicing into it will
suffice.
Black – Ground. This wire must be
connected to the battery in the car.
