Where to source wire for custom cables?
I need to figure out where to buy very cheap wire to make cables. I need either a 4-core flat cable or some individual wires that are 22 - 24 awg. I have to make 4-pin cables and I can't find a good source!
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

off the top of my head, try these:
www.parts-express.com
www.alliedelec.com
www.digikey.com
if you want to order from allied, or digikey, it might be easier to just order the book first-- their websites are nearly impossible to navigate if you don't have the part number of what you need.

I forgot to mention, I'm in Canada. Usually places like digikey absolutely crush you on shipping internationally.

Best company I know of in Canada is Alberta Computer Cable ( www.cablesbyacc.com).

Buy rolls off eBay if you can find a seller with cheap shipping to Canada, or try your local auto parts store. As a mechanic (in the US) I buy rolls from auto parts stores all the time, and sometimes off eBay for personal use.

I haven't found any good deals coming to Canada from eBay unfortunately. Either people only have one color or huge shipping.

Ya they do, we outfitted an entire sound booth at my old work with thousands of feet of audio/power cable all from ACC.

When I look at the site, I see audio and power cables, but I don't want audio cable and the power cables all have ends on them...

They make the actual cables there in their building. I called them up looking for a cable with VGA on one end and component on the other end. He took some cable, threw the ends on for me and shipped it out, so they have piles of the raw cable in their warehouse. They're probably just advertising the finished product of what you can order. Email them and ask.

Awesome, thanks. I emailed them about it. Are the prices worth it though? Did you order a single VGA-component cable or did you order a ton of them?

I just ordered one, needed something to get 480p from my Wii to my projector and 1080i from my Playstation 2 to my projector. Component output with only VGA input so I needed a custom solution that I haven't seen for sale anywhere.
If that doesn't work, you could probably still get stuff pretty cheap from Monoprice.

You know, for 22-24ga 4-wire cable, you might be able to find some telephone cable in that size. Not the patch cables but the stuff you run along/in your walls.

I was thinking that too, but I don't think I want it to be jacketed. I want something along the lines of this:
With 4 pins and my custom connectors on each end.
